Learning Objects And Videos For Purchase

I am offering the following learning objects and videos for sale at a modest cost to help defray the cost of developing additional material. I expect the offering to increase dramatically over the next three to four months. These materials are being sold to a single user and are not to be placed on a server or made available on the internet without permission. I welcome suggestions on how to improve these objects. I can also customize an object if you would like something specific. Email Tom if you have any questions.

Payment:
You can pay securely using your credit card or your PayPal account. Simply press the "Add to Cart" button adjacent to the item you are interested in purchasing and check out using PayPal's secure web portal.

Delivery:
All files associated with each purchased item will be zipped and uploaded to a large file distribution server (www.yousendit.com). You will be emailed the web address (URL) where the file(s) can be downloaded. Within the zipped files will be brief instructions (also available here) on how to set up the files and run the application. If you don't have a program to unzip files a free program is available at 7-zip.

Format:
All E-Case Studies E-Demos and E-tools are flash files that are embedded into web pages. To play them in a presentation one simply opens the web page (*.htm file) and the application will play in the computer's browser. The computer playing the files must have a recent version of flash loaded. Flash is a free program available here. The resource material available within the program is formatted as an Adobe PDF document and you must have the free Adobe Reader loaded on your computer to view these documents. E-Case Studies ($20 each)

This case study reviews the hazardous material incident that occurred on January 30, 2007 in Ghent, WV. This instructor led case study can be used to review a variety of topics including sources of information on hazardous materials, proper characterization of an incident, and evacuation distances.

This case study reviews several hot work incidents that occurred in 2001 and 2006. This instructor led case study can be used to review a variety of topics including performing a risk assessment, monitoring the atmosphere and using a written permit.

This case study reviews the importance of work area control during lifts by cranes. This instructor led case study can be used to review a variety of topics including how to properly secure the area around a crane and the procedures employees should follow when entering the hazard area during a lift.

This case study reviews the confined space incident that occurred in the Valero Refinery on November 5, 2005 in Delaware City, Delaware. This instructor led case study can be used to review a variety of topics including what constitutes a confined space and entry into the space, what should be done prior to entry, what are the attendant's duties and the importance of a rescue plan.

This demonstration reviews the hazards associated with flammable and combustible solvents as well as explores the differences between these solvents. Short videos are used to illustrate the hazardous properties of these solvents.
